ADM Group to Invest $250 Million to Start EV Manufacturing and Charging in Pakistan
China’s ADM Group has committed to a $250 million investment in electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing in Pakistan. The investment agreement was finalized during a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistan’s Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain and the CEO of ADM Group. According to reports from the Ministry of Information, the meeting underscored Pakistan’s potential as a hub for EV production, aligning with the nation’s green energy goals. ADM Group will also focus on establishing a network of EV charging stations across the country in the next three to five years. This foundational infrastructure will pave the way for the subsequent phase of EV manufacturing, ensuring that Pakistan is well-equipped to support the adoption of electric vehicles. The ADM Group’s CEO highlighted that the upcoming electric vehicles will be capable of covering up to 300 kilometers on a single charge, addressing a key concern for potential EV users—range anxiety. Minister Hussain emphasized the government’s commitment to facilitating foreign direct investment (FDI) in Pakistan’s rapidly growing EV sector. He noted that the shift towards electric vehicles is a vital step in reducing carbon emissions and making transportation more affordable for consumers.
