Bitcoin skyrocketed to a new all-time high on US election day as investors bet big on Donald Trump winning the presidential elections as results started coming in early on Wednesday morning (PKT).
BTC touched a record $75,000 on the nose. It first hit its previous record of $73,797.68 on March 14 and has traded between $56,000-$70,000 for most of the year since then.
At 10 AM today, the flagship cryptocurrency was up 9.32 percent, trading around $74,717.
The crypto space started packing some real weight on US election results which showed Donald Trump gaining a commanding lead over his rival Kamala Harris. She has gained big ground overnight, trailing behind by only ~4 million votes at 56 million compared to Trump’s 60 million.
Investors see bitcoin trading to be choppy until a clear winner is declared. However, many suggest that the crypto market will take a big beating if Trump doesn’t win.
