The price of chicken has witnessed a sudden decrease in Islamabad after last week’s uncontrollable spike. The price of live chicken has dropped by Rs. 25 per kilogram to Rs. 485 per kg compared to last week’s rate of Rs. 510 per kg.
Chicken meat has seen a big drop of Rs. 42 per kg from last week’s Rs. 800 to Rs. 758 per kg today, making it a little more affordable for citizens.
This recent price drop comes after a sharp increase in recent days when the price of live chicken surged by Rs. 150 per kg and chicken meat rose by Rs. 250 per kilogram. Despite the current decline, prices remain higher than average.
The trend was no different in Lahore last week where the price of broiler chicken meat surpassed Rs. 700 per kg.
The situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wasn’t good either. In Peshawar, the price of chicken rose by Rs. 70 last week, reaching Rs. 510 per kg over the weekend.
