The Customs Collectorate Islamabad has foiled a bid to smuggle Iranian Diesel in the guise of LPG.
According to Collector Customs Islamabad Asif Hergon, the officials of Islamabad Customs Collectorate on source information stopped LPG bowsers. During the inspection of the bowser, the Customs staff recovered 75,000 liters of smuggled Iranian Diesel.
The Collectorate Customs informed the media that they arrested two smugglers and have started further investigation on this matter.
He further informed that the confiscated smuggled Iranian diesel is worth over Rs. 20 million.
Asif explained that the smugglers managed to clear the bowser, and traveled from Taftan to Islamabad through the M-14 route. However, the Islamabad Customs collectorate confiscated the above-mentioned goods in its jurisdiction.
