Punjab’s Department of Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control has removed the 5% discount previously offered for online property tax payments.
Currently, taxpayers making online property tax payments will pay the full amount. However, those who pay their property and vehicle token tax by September 30, 2024, will receive a 5 to 10 percent discount.
Previously, property taxpayers received a 5% rebate for filing online. This rebate has been removed. Now, a 5% discount is available for full property tax payments, and a 10% discount is offered for vehicle token tax submissions made by September 30.
The Director General of the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department has directed that all tax targets for the first quarter of the new financial year, from July 1 to September 30, must be met.
Excise inspectors and field staff have been ordered to make daily recoveries by conducting field visits. In response, all five zones of the Rawalpindi Excise Department have accelerated their efforts to recover taxes.
