FBR Sets Deadline for Businesses to Integrate Systems for Electronic Invoicing

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has made it mandatory for all corporate entities and companies to electronically integrate their hardware and software with a computerized system to generate and transmit electronic invoices by May 1, 2025. The requirement for issuance of electronic invoicing is made applicable across the board to both corporate and non-corporate taxpayers without any distinction to any specific sector. Earlier, this requirement was only for FMCG and tier-1 retailers. In this regard, the FBR has issued an S.R.O.709(I)/2025. The non-corporate registered persons have been given a deadline of June 1, 2025, for integration purposes.
