The federal government has halted funding for 52 development projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa scheduled for the current financial year.
A total of 94 development projects in the province worth Rs. 911.52 billion have been delayed due to the non-release of funds. Of the allocated Rs. 49.74 billion for these projects this year, only Rs. 6.29 billion has been released for covering 42 projects.
Several key divisions are impacted, including the National Assembly Housing (NAH), Communication, Aviation, Establishment, Housing and Works, and Information and Interior divisions.
The exploration of uranium deposits in Kohat by the Atomic Energy Commission is due Rs. 310 million while five projects of the Power Division remain unfunded.
Additionally, railway, revenue, science and technology, and water resources projects in the region have stopped receiving funds.
