After surging to a record high of Rs. 272,500 per tola on September 21, the price of gold eased slightly on Monday.
According to data issued by the All-Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of gold (24 carats) fell by Rs. 600 per tola to Rs. 271,900, while the price of 10 grams was down by Rs. 471 to Rs. 233,110.
The price of per tola and ten-gram silver remained unchanged at Rs. 2,950 and Rs. 2,529.14, respectively.
The price of gold in the international market decreased by $5 to $2,617 from $2,622, the Association reported.
It is pertinent to mention here that that the price of gold stood at Rs. 220,000 per tola at the end of 2023 and has risen by over Rs. 50,000 per tola in under 10 months.
