The price of gold in Pakistan rose for the second consecutive day on Thursday and surged to a new all-time high.
According to data issued by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold (24 carats) climbed by Rs. 700 per tola to Rs. 277,900, while the price of 10 grams was up by Rs. 600 to Rs. 238,254.
The price of the precious metal surged by Rs. 2,200 per tola yesterday to hit Rs. 277,200, a record high, beating the previous record of Rs. 277,000 per tola registered in late September.
In the international market, spot gold was up 0.2 percent to $2,678.13 per ounce by 0934 GMT, after hitting a record high of $2,685.60. The US gold futures were also up 0.1 percent to $2,693.60.
