The price of gold in Pakistan rose by Rs. 300 per tola on Friday to erase yesterday’s losses and once again hit the all-time high level.
According to data issued by the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of gold (24 carats) rose by Rs. 300 per tola to hit Rs. 257,700, while the price of 10 grams was up by Rs. 256 to Rs. 220,936.
In a brief statement, the Sarafa Association once again said that the price of gold in the local market has been kept Rs. 2,000 per tola below its actual cost.
In the international market, spot gold climbed 0.3 percent to 2,462.82 per ounce as of 1002 GMT, while the US gold futures were up 0.3 percent to $2,500.50.
