The price of gold in Pakistan fell slightly on Thursday after hitting record high a day earlier.
According to data issued by the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of gold (24 carats) decreased by Rs. 1,000 per tola to Rs. 263,000, while the price of 10 grams fell by Rs. 857 to Rs. 225,480.
Yesterday, the price of gold surged by Rs. 2,300 per tola to hit an all-time high price of Rs. 264,000 per tola. The precious metal has been on a consistent upward trend this year, gaining over Rs. 40,000 per tola since the start of the year.
In the international market, spot gold was up 0.2 percent at $2,515.59 per ounce as of 0353 GMT, while the US gold futures were largely unchanged at $2,543.40.
