The price of gold in Pakistan posted its second big increase during the current week as it went down by Rs. 5,500 per tola on Thursday.
According to data issued by the All-Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association, the price of gold (24 carats) fell by Rs. 5,500 per tola to Rs. 266,400, while the price of 10 grams was down by Rs. 4,716 to Rs. 228,395.
The price of gold in the international market decreased by $55 to $2,552 from $2,607, the Association said.
Earlier, on Nov 12, the price of the precious metal in the local market plummeted by Rs. 7,000 per tola. The price of gold is down by more than Rs. 21,000 from the all-time high of Rs. 287,900 per tola recorded towards the end of the last month.
