The price of gold in Pakistan rose by Rs. 1,400 per tola on Wednesday after going down by over Rs. 17,000 per tola from its record high in the past few weeks.
According to data issued by the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of gold (24 carats) rose by Rs. 1,400 per tola to Rs. 271,900, while the price of 10 grams was up by Rs. 1,200 to Rs. 233,111.
It is pertinent to mention here that the price of the precious metal hit an all-time high of Rs. 287,900 per tola last month. Gold is trading Rs. 16,000 per tola below the record high price despite today’s increase.
In the international market, spot gold was up 0.4 percent to $2,607.59 per ounce by 1015 GMT, after hitting its lowest since September 20 on Tuesday. The US gold futures were also up 0.3 percent to $2,613.30.
