The price of gold in Pakistan fell by over Rs. 5,000 per tola on Thursday after the prices in the international market fell to a three-week low on Wednesday with investors piling into the US dollar after Donald Trump was elected US president.
According to data issued by the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of gold (24 carats) fell by Rs. 5,600 per tola to Rs. 276,800, while the price of 10 grams was down by Rs. 4,630 to Rs. 237,311.
It is pertinent to mention here that this is the third straight decline in the price of the precious metal, the price also fell marginally on both Tuesday and Wednesday in the local market.
The price of the precious metal had hit an all-time high of Rs. 287,900 per tola last month.
