Gold Rate in Pakistan Surges to Record High
The price of gold in Pakistan continued its record-breaking run on Wednesday and crossed the Rs. 275,000 milestone.  According to data issued by the Karachi Sarafa Association, the price of gold (24 carats) increased by Rs. 2,500 per tola to Rs. 275,500, while the price of 10 grams rose by Rs. 2,144 to Rs. 236,197.       After declining by Rs. 600 per tola on Monday, the price of gold rose by Rs. 1,100 per tola on Tuesday to hit an all-time high of Rs. 273,000 per tola.  In the international market, spot gold was steady at $2,658.08 per ounce as of 0557 GMT, after hitting an all-time high of $2,670.43 earlier, while the US gold futures were up 0.2 percent to $2,682.10.  The price of gold has risen by more than Rs. 55,000 per tola since the start of the year primarily due to an increase in international prices.
