The federal cabinet has created a whopping 27-member steering committee for overseeing parliamentarian schemes with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar as its chairman.
The new committee includes several federal ministers: Inter-Provincial Coordination Minister Rana Sanaullah, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal, Power Minister Awais Laghari, Privatization Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, and Minister of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Chaudhry Salik Hussain.
The committee will comprise nine members of the National Assembly and relevant federal secretaries, along with officers from all four provinces.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal has been removed from his position as Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission. However, he has been included in the 27-member steering committee for overseeing parliamentarian schemes.
Previously, Ahsan Iqbal chaired the Planning Commission while serving as Planning Minister during the previous coalition government.
