The federal government has decided to introduce a fuel price adjustment mechanism for both commercial and residential consumers of gas.
A committee formed to address the issues within Pakistan’s petroleum sector has recommended collecting fuel price adjustment in gas bills. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The committee has also instructed the Petroleum Division to propose necessary amendments to the OGRA Ordinance for setting up a system for adjusting gas rates on a monthly or quarterly basis.
The committee also emphasized the need for enhanced security measures and requested the Interior Division to collaborate closely with E&P companies and other relevant stakeholders.
