Govt to Fire All Contingent Paid Staff of Different Ministries

The federal government has decided to fire all contingent paid staff working in different ministries under the ongoing rightsizing efforts. The Establishment Division has issued a memorandum regarding the extension/continuation of continuation of contingent paid staff in the Establishment Division. With the concurrence of the Finance Division, the competent authority has allowed for continuation/extension of contingent paid staff of this Division from 01-07-2024 to 30-09-2024 during the current financial year 2024-25. It was advised by the Finance Division to utilize the services of staff placed at the disposal of Surplus Pool after 30-09-2024. As per government instructions and keeping in view the rightsizing efforts, all contingent paid staff are hereby informed that their services are no longer required in the Establishment Division, after expiry of (03) months extended period i.e. from 01-07-2024 to 30-09-2024. It is pertinent to note that the government under rightsizing effort decided to wind up four departments besides in the second phase, the rightsizing of five departments shall be made, including merging.
