Govt to Impose Sales Tax Withholding Regime for Coal, Paper Scrap Sectors

The federal government has decided to impose sales withholding tax on copper, coal, paper and plastic scrap. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said in his budget speech that copper, coal, paper and plastic scrap sectors are informal. He said that these sectors contribute nothing to the national exchequer.
