Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is preparing a construction package to revive Pakistan’s construction sector which is expected to launch next month, Finance Ministry sources told ProPakistani.
The package is contingent on approval from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) but it has been determined that it will not include a tax amnesty, sources stated.
Sources said that instead, the focus will be on offering targeted facilities, including incentives for multi-storied buildings, reduced map fees, and possibly exemptions for rooftop accommodations and third-floor additions on existing two-story buildings.
The package also aims to support financing for affordable housing projects, sources added.
