Here’s How Much Salary Current SBP Governor is Paid

State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Jameel Ahmed is paid a monthly salary of Rs. 4 million, substantially (60 percent) higher than his predecessor Dr. Reza Baqir who earned Rs. 2.5 million. The National Assembly was informed this week that the current central bank governor’s salary is at least Rs. 1.5 million higher than the previous governor. Jameel Ahmed’s overall package includes some neat perks such as rental allowance, maintenance and furnishing, two vehicles with free 600 liters of petrol each, and the option to hire four house workers for Rs. 18,000/month salary each. The central bank also covers his utility bills, entertainment, and mobile phone expenses. Other benefits include 75 percent coverage of his children’s education, full medical coverage, airline tickets, club memberships, and security expenses.
