IESCO Will Issue Discounted Bills in 2 Days

Rawalpindi Commissioner Aamir Khattak announced on Tuesday that the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) will release revised bills within the next two days. He added that customers who have already paid their bills will see adjustments reflected in their statements next month. The commissioner stated that the Punjab government has provided a Rs. 14 per unit discount for electricity consumption between 201 and 500 units for August and September. This relief is extended to consumers in both Punjab and Islamabad. The Punjab government will cover the difference between the electricity cost and the discounted rate. Khattak added that official communications have been dispatched to electricity providers regarding this adjustment. Following directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, letters have been issued to Discos including IESCO in Islamabad, LESCO in Lahore, GEPCO in Gujranwala, FESCO in Faisalabad, and MEPCO in Multan. The companies have been directed to reduce electricity bills for consumers using between 201 and 500 units. It should be noted that on August 16, former PM Nawaz Sharif along with CM Punjab announced a Rs. 14 discount on electricity bills. The Punjab government has allocated Rs. 45 billion from its resources to offer relief to residents of Punjab and Islamabad. This relief package includes a reduction in electricity rates for those consuming between 201 and 500 units during August and September.
