K-Electric Consumers Likely to Get Tiny Relief in Upcoming Electricity Bills

K-Electric has requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to pass a reduction of 16 paisas per unit in customer bills under Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for the month of September 2024. This request has been made under the fuel price mechanism governed by NEPRA which is reviewed every month as per the tariff regime applicable across the country and is usually applicable to the consumer’s bills for one month only. The benefit of this reduction is likely to be passed on to customers in upcoming power bills. NEPRA is scheduled to review the application today. If approved, the adjustment would provide consumers with an estimated relief of over Rs. 240 million.
