The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) posted the highest-ever monthly gain in points in 11 months in October 2024, with the benchmark KSE-100 index gaining a staggering 7,853 points.
According to brokerage house Arif Habib Limited (AHL), this represents an increase of 9.7 percent on a month-on-month basis, the highest in 2024.
This is also the highest month-on-month increase since November 2023 when the KSE-100 index surged by 16.6 percent on a month-on-month basis, AHL highlighted.
According to the AHL data, the KSE-100 index was down by 0.8 percent in January but gained 4.2 percent and 3.8 percent in February and March respectively.
The gains during April stood at 6.1 percent, followed by 6.7 percent in May and 3.4 percent in June. However, July saw the KSE-100 index drop by 0.7 percent.
The index rose by 0.8 in August and followed by another gain of 3.3 percent in September before the year’s best performance of 9.7 percent increase in October 2024.
