Rashid Mahmood Langrial Thursday assumed charge as the new Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
In a post on the banned X, FBR said Langrial officially assumed charge of his office at FBR HQs today. The post said that the new chairman was welcomed by former Chairman Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana along with Members and senior officers of the Board.
Later on, the new chairman held an introductory meeting with Members of the Board. He assured his all-out support to the FBR Team in achieving the assigned targets.
Langrial, a BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, was posted as Secretary, Power Division, before his appointment as the FBR Chairman.
The government was forced to look for a new FBR chairman, as Tiwana sought retirement six months before reaching the age of superannuation.
The new chairman has also been assigned the additional charge of the post of Secretary, Revenue Division, in addition to his own duties, for a period of three months of till the posting of a regular incumbent.
