Maple Leaf Group intends to acquire control in Agritech Limited (PSX: AGL). Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (MLCF) and Maple Leaf Capital Limited intend to acquire additional shares and control in AGL.
The companies already own 87.4 million shares of AGL (20.6 percent holding). To note, the Maple Leaf group now also has three board members on AGL’s board constituted earlier this week.
Maple Leaf Cement management has decided to diversify its portfolio, also evident with its recent entry into the healthcare sector marking a strategic expansion beyond their traditional industries, according to JS Global. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance growth and create value across multiple sectors.
AGL’s principal business is the production and sale of Urea and Granulated Single Super Phosphate fertilizer.
