Chairman CDA & Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa took swift action to resolve the suspension of birth and death registration services in Islamabad, ensuring the prompt restoration of these essential services to the citizens.
NADRA had suspended birth and death certificate services to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) due to non-payment of dues, causing inconvenience to the public. The CDA’s finance department owed NADRA Rs. 19.66 million, which had not been paid due to a lack of funds. The suspension of services lasted for almost 10 days, affecting the daily lives of residents.
However, following Chief Commissioner Randhawa’s instructions, the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) immediately paid all outstanding dues to NADRA, resulting in the resumption of services. The Chief Commissioner also directed authorities to take permanent measures to ensure timely payment of NADRA’s dues in the future.
Randhawa emphasized that no compromise will be made on providing facilities to the citizens of Islamabad, and directed the Director DMA to ensure seamless delivery of services. The swift resolution of the issue has brought relief to the residents of Islamabad, who can now access these vital services without any hindrance.
