NADRA Stops Issuing Birth and Death Certificates for CDA
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has suspended birth and death certificate services to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) due to non-payment of dues. The CDA’s finance department owes NADRA Rs. 19.66 million, which has not been paid due to lack of funds. This has resulted in the suspension of services, causing inconvenience to the public. According to sources, NADRA has suspended birth and death certificate services to the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) due to non-payment of dues. The MCI has repeatedly requested the CDA’s finance department to pay the bill, but the directorate of finance has not taken any action. The suspension of services has been in place since last week, and citizens are facing severe difficulties in obtaining their documents. People have appealed to the Chairman of CDA and the Chairman of NADRA to take immediate notice of the situation and issue orders for the restoration of the service.
