The federal government is finalizing key strategy on defense, trade, health, and energy for engagement with the incoming Trump administration. This was revealed during a recent inter-ministerial meeting chaired by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
MoFA has directed relevant ministries to submit feedback and proposals urgently for a comprehensive presentation, reported Business Recorder.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Washington has engaged with US officials to schedule the third round of the Energy Security Dialogue, with a proposed timeframe of mid-January. However, concerns were raised about holding the dialogue during the transition period, as the incoming administration might not uphold prior agreements.
The dialogue presents an opportunity to address critical issues such as the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline, renewable energy projects, LNG infrastructure, and private-sector investment in Pakistan’s energy sector. Feedback on the timing is awaited from the Energy and Petroleum Divisions to finalize the schedule.
