Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering support for Pakistan, emphasizing the enduring and growing bond between the two brotherly nations under their current leadership.
“I want to assure every Pakistani that Saudi Arabia will stand alongside Pakistan in all circumstances,” Ambassador Al-Malki stated at a grand ceremony in Islamabad marking the 95th National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He recited a powerful verse by Pakistan’s national poet, Allama Iqbal, calling for Muslim unity in the protection of the Great Mosque of Makkah.
Chairman of the Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, who was the chief guest at the event, conveyed heartfelt felicitations on behalf of the Senate of Pakistan, Parliament, and the people of Pakistan to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.
Paying rich tribute to the visionary leadership of King Abdulaziz Al Saud, the founding father of modern Saudi Arabia, Gillani hailed the Kingdom as a “beacon of stability, faith, and progress in the Islamic world.”
He emphasized the time-tested and deeply rooted ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, describing them as a “bond rooted in hearts, shared faith, cultural affinities, and common aspirations.” He noted that the spiritual significance of the land of Haramain Sharifain binds every Pakistani to the Kingdom.
Recalling the historic 1974 Islamic Summit Conference held in Lahore, the Chairman stressed that the spirit of Muslim unity continues to guide the bilateral relationship. He welcomed the recently signed Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between the two nations, calling it a significant milestone that reinforces bilateral security cooperation.
Gillani reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia, declaring: “Protecting the land of the Two Holy Mosques is not merely a duty — it is a sacred privilege and honour.”
He further stated that this defence pact sends a strong message to the broader Muslim Ummah that unity and solidarity remain the most effective shields against modern challenges such as extremism and Islamophobia.
On the economic front, the Chairman highlighted the growing cooperation between the two nations in areas such as investment, energy security, economic growth, and human development. He welcomed Saudi investments under the framework of Vision 2030, expressing confidence that bilateral economic ties are entering a “new and promising phase.”
Gillani also acknowledged the role of the Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia as a vital “living bridge of friendship” between the two countries.
He praised Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki for his commendable efforts in deepening bilateral ties across multiple sectors and appreciated his continued dedication to Pakistan–Saudi relations.
In his concluding remarks, the Chairman of the Senate reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to further expand cooperation in defence, economy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, urging both nations to continue working together for the peace, prosperity, and dignity of the Muslim Ummah.
