Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday announced plans to reduce electricity tariffs which would be shared in the coming days.
In a speech commemorating Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, he said reducing power costs was crucial for the country’s industrial development.
Shehbaz emphasized the need for national unity and urged the youth to focus on education. He assured that his government is committed to providing maximum relief. He also declared a new five-year economic plan aimed at ensuring long-term stability.
During the ceremony, the prime minister honored various contributors to Pakistan’s achievements, including Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem. He also condemned ongoing violence against Palestinians and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri cause.
Reflecting on the country’s challenges over the past 77 years, PM Sharif called for a renewed commitment to national development and urged everyone to learn from past mistakes and strive for a prosperous future.
