Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has enhanced gas processing capacity at its Gambat South Gas Processing Facility (GPF-II) in Sanghar, Sindh, from 55 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 60 MMscfd through process optimization.
The company, which holds a 65 percent working interest in the Gambat South Block along with joint venture partners Government Holdings (Private) Limited (25%) and Asia Resources Oil Limited (10%), achieved the milestone without any hardware modification.
The capacity boost resulted from optimising the Amine sweetening process by introducing a proprietary additive to the existing MDEA solvent system. The enhancement has added approximately 5 MMscfd of gas, 35 barrels per day of condensate, and one metric ton of LPG.
PPL said the development, achieved at minimal cost, underscores its focus on efficiency, innovation, and maximising domestic hydrocarbon output from existing fields in a cost-effective manner.
