PSX Closes At All-Time High After Surging Past 100,000 Barrier  

A day after posting the highest-ever single-day gain of almost 4,700 points, the benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) rose by 813.52 points on Thursday to close at 100,082.77 points, the first ever closing above the 100,000 milestone.   A total of 1,164,794,139 shares were traded during the day as compared to 1,057,104,968 shares the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs. 39.77 billion against Rs. 39.556 billion on the last trading day.      As many as 450 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 289 of them recorded gains and 117 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 44 companies remained unchanged.  In a note brokerage house Topline Securities said investor confidence was bolstered by declining T-Bill yields, reduced political uncertainty, and a rally in leveraged companies supported by falling KIBOR rates.  Major contributors to the index’s surge included PPL, HBL, OGDC, LUCK, and TRG, which collectively added 629 points to the index, it added.  In a statement, Farrukh H.
