PSX Loses Over 1,400 Points Despite Strong Early Gains
The 100-Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) lost over 1,400 points on Monday after a positive start in morning trading.
At close, the benchmark index was down 1,405 points (or 1.23 percent) to close at 114,063 points.
A total of 417,678,645 shares were traded during the day as compared to 471,072,967 shares the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs. 26.12 billion against Rs. 27.310 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 449 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 93 of them recorded gains and 313 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 43 companies remained unchanged.
On Friday, the 100-Index gained 449 points but the benchmark index fell by 1.57 percent on week-on-week basis due to cross border tension with India and futures rollover week.
