A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance, chaired by Senator Saleem Mandviwala, was held today to discuss various financial issues.
The committee deferred its discussion on the Virtual Assets Authority Bill for further consideration.
Senator Mandviwalla questioned who would brief the committee, to which Minister of State Bilal Kayani responded that either the finance minister or the Prime Minister’s special assistant Bilal bin Saqib could do so.
Mandviwalla stated that if the government wanted to pass legislation, the finance committee must first be briefed.
