Total Number of Return Filers Crosses 4 Million Mark for Tax Year 2024

The number of income tax return filers has crossed over 4 million for the tax year 2024 up to October 13, 2024. So far, the FBR has received 4.436 million income tax returns for tax year 2024 with 1.636 million nil-filers during this period. Last year, the total number of return filers reached 6.44 million for tax year 2023. The 6.44 million number also includes those 3.49 million filers who filed nil returns. FBR has received an amount of Rs. 114,338 million as tax along with the returns during tax year 2024. The persons registered from 01 July 2023 to date stood at 1,035,922 including 622,102 nil-filers. However, the persons registered from July 2024 to date are 450,405 including 307,482 nil-filers.
